Designing a typeface was a truly rewarding process to learn from.
This project taught me how to develop a system and implement it thoughtfully,
wherever and whenever it was needed.
My typeface was inspired by music — more specifically, the sine wave as a natural phenomenon. I began my preliminary sketches with the letters “S” and “O.” Why those letters first? Because the first cycle of a sine wave creates forms that resemble both “S” and “O,” as the sine wave originates from circular motion.
I aimed to design a typeface focused on legibility while also functioning well as a display type for titles. I was searching for balance and clarity — readability without sacrificing personality. The goal was to create something functional and versatile, for both editorial
and signage.
